Experienced guides. Comfortable camps ! Bandarpunch expedition

To start with I am Gagandeep Singh, I am an Indian and my religion is Sikh. Sikhism, from  Sikh, ‘disciple’, is a Dharmic religion that originated in the Punjab region of the Indian subcontinent around the end of the 15th century CE. Sikhism is one of the youngest of the major religions and the world’s fifth-largest organized religion, You must be wondering why am I starting this Blog highlighting these facts about myself? This is the beauty of India. The expedition I am going to talk over and document today has a major association with Hinduism one of the largest religions in the world.

Now let’s CHEER UP!! Pull up your socks!! Pull yourself together!! You can imagine the excitement I inherit to discuss about Bandarpunch Expedition.

Bandarpunch is a mountain massif of the Garhwal division of the Himalayas, in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Widely known as Bandarpoonch, literally “tail of the monkey”, its name is inspired by the mythological tale in which Hanuman, the monkey god, extinguishes his tail, after it catches fire during the battle between King Rama and Ravana in Lanka, by going to the summit of the mountain.

Bandarpunch is located at the western edge of the high Himalayan range where it turns the corner to the northwest. It is part of the Sankari Range and lies within the Govind Pashu Vihar National Park and Sanctuary. It is a major watershed for the headwaters of the Yamuna River, whose source lies above Yamunotri, on the west end of the massif below White Peak. Yamunotri is the westernmost of the four most sacred pilgrimage places (Chota Char Dham) and destination for thousands of pilgrims annually.

I will conclude this blog by saying don’t think even once and explore the mesmerising beauty of Bandarpunch Mountains.
