Its elevation is 12,500 ft (3,800 m).The word Kedarkantha is made of up two words Kedar + Kantha, literal meaning – ‘Throat of Lord Shiva’. This trek has a whole lot of fascinating mythical stories attached to it. Kedarkantha is a classic winter snow trek and the snow-covered meadows everywhere offers breath-taking views and perfect slopes for skiing. To reach the skiing region one must trek from Sankari Village, the trek ascends through an alluring, quiet and peaceful forest, rich in flora and fauna, looming pine and oak trees with the Garhwal Himalayas in the backdrop. Kedarkantha is easily one of the most popular treks in India — popular amongst seasoned trekkers and beginners alike. It hosts submit climb every year.
