Shinkun West Peak Expedition (6,130Meters)
The Shinkun West Expedition is a high-altitude adventure that takes you deep into the remote and rugged beauty of the Lahaul Himalayas. Rising to 6,130 meters, Shinkun West is one of the most technically demanding and visually rewarding peaks in the Indian Himalayas, located near the historic Shinkun La Pass—the traditional gateway between the Lahaul and Zanskar valleys.
This expedition blends challenging alpine climbing with a rich cultural journey. Starting from Manali, you’ll pass through scenic mountain villages like Jispa before entering pristine high-altitude wilderness. The route follows ancient Himalayan trade paths, leading to a quiet base camp surrounded by glaciated ridges and towering peaks.
The summit climb involves steep snowfields, icy ridgelines, and crevassed slopes—requiring prior experience with mountaineering equipment and solid physical conditioning. From the top, enjoy panoramic views stretching across the Greater Himalayas, including glimpses of Nun-Kun, Stok Kangri, and the distant Karakoram range.
This is not just a climb—it’s a test of skill, endurance, and spirit.
